We start this blog with the sole purpose of letting you discover a little more about what happens behind the scenes, what we are thinking about, and what inspires us every day to carry on with this new adventure.
This first post aims to introduce you to our brand, who we are, and how we came to be. We want to tell you more than what you will find in the "About" section of our website, and we will do it with a series of questions and answers that many ask us when they come across our products or our website.
What does it mean / Why REMMIND?
"Remind" means to remember in English or rather it means to help someone remember something important they need to do. Our brand is born precisely for this, to help people remember how beautiful the world we all live in is, that we can experience it in full, and that we can do so without destroying it, without destroying its future. A future that is also ours and that of those who come after us. Then we wanted to add something of ourselves to this: here is the double 'M'. They are the initials of our founders: Michele and Marco. But why did you choose an English word and not an Italian one? It seems obvious; someone tells us that we did it to have an extra gear. In reality, the reason is much simpler: we believe that our message is universal. So we wanted to reach as many people as possible.
Who are you?
Well, we already partly answered this. We always like to say that REMMIND is our founders, but it is also all the people who move around this project. Many think it's something sugary to touch the customer's heart, but we truly believe in it. We are truly part of a group of people who love the little things, being together, sharing special moments with their friends, spending time in nature. What does this mean in practice? Carving out a moment each week to have a chat with old friends, going on vacation together when possible, sharing a dinner or an aperitif at a friend's house, taking long walks in the mountains, going for a run as soon as the sun comes out, or putting on a poncho to go admire the rain.
What prompted you to start REMMIND?
We started REMMIND for various reasons: to preserve the beauty of nature, the things around us, the moments we have experienced. We also started REMMIND thanks to our passion, our backgrounds (economics, psychology, shoemaking...), our determination, and so on.
You told us how you were born, but where does REMMIND originate?
REMMIND is born in the beautiful setting of the Italian Alps on the border between Lombardy and Trentino. Of course, all mountains are beautiful, but the idea was born there. Then it develops a little further south in our city of origin, Cremona, land of inventors and artists, land of good food and people who have had to learn to communicate with nature, to love it, and to respect it. We are Italians, but we are also citizens of the world, and we strongly believe in respect, the respect that the mountain teaches you. Respect for nature, but also respect for people. Have you ever noticed that on mountain paths people always greet each other? It doesn't matter if you are from another country, if you don't understand the language, if you have professional climbing equipment to scale a peak, or if you are there for a Sunday out, a greeting is enough. You don't know where that person comes from, you don't know where they are going, but you greet them because a greeting is an encouragement; a greeting tells them that at that moment they are not alone but are part of the world. This is the spirit with which REMMIND was born.
